iTunes får stöd för podcastsändningar

Det stora problemet med podcasting är att konvertera besökare till prenumeranter. Kanske kan det lösa sig nu:

But when he announced that the next version of iTunes will support downloads of podcasts, he contributed to a major change in media. Podcasting, a disruptive technology, is about to get more so.

Jobs showed a preview of the next version of iTunes. It included an entire category for podcasting. At first, Apple will only include the free -- i.e. totally gratis or advertising supported -- material.

But in answer to a question from Weblogs Inc.'s Jason Calacanis, he hinted that Apple will look at other business models, i.e. pay models. That's good news.

Coolt. En sak som fortfarande återstår att lösa är enklicksprenumerationer. Jag hörde i någon av Podcast Solutions-intervjuerna att feed är föreslaget, likt mailto. (De sa också att förslaget är lite kontroversiellt i vissa läger, men att de ändå stödde det i iPodder X.) Men det löser inte riktigt problemet om man har en podcatching-klient och en rss-läsare.
